Last Saturday, Aug. 23rd, was the winding up day for 2008 Speed Week at the Salt Flats. Steve and my Dad and brother headed out there at 5am and were able to see some amazing cars, speeds, and accidents. My Dad has always been a 'car guy' and it has always been a dream of his to go to speed week. Steve said watching my dad and brother was like watching two little kids in a candy store for the first time. I wish I could have been there! Luckily, my husband is a photographer and he took some amazing photos. I've posted a few here on the blog. If you want to see all of them click here.
This motorcycle went over 240 mph...and then went down. And the guy? He's fine. Gotta love those leathers!
We did their engagements a couple months ago. We headed up Milcreek Canyon... me, Steve, Anny, Chris, and Balrog and Percy - their two dogs. Balrog wasn't that cooperative, so he didn't make it into very many shots, but Percy was a little older and a little less fidgety. It was so much fun and they were so easy with the camera - it was great. Here are some favs:
You know how you kind of picture what kind of wedding you want? Well, Jamie and Cary pictured an elegant, intimate wedding of close family and friends, and they nailed it. It was perfect. The ceremony and reception were held at Log Haven up Milcreek Canyon, which immediately created the ambience. Jamie's dress was white and ivory with beautiful beadwork and detail. Cary was in a classic black suit and light green tie. The music they played was picked by the couple and showed their personalities and did a wonderful job adding to the 'mood'. Oh, and the flower girls and ring bearer...how cute are they? Again, it was perfect. Here are some favorites:
For Jena's Bridals we ventured out to Antelope Island. I have never had so many bug bites - ever! It was a gorgeous day for bridals. There was a perfect sun set, perfect bride, perfect dress... everything was perfect. Except for the bugs. While Jena's mom and I swatted away what we could, Jena remained excited and positive and kept on smiling. And despite the bugs, I actually had a great time. The photos Steve took turned out amazing. Here are some favorites:
So, back in April, Ron and Tiffaney got married! The ceremony and reception was at Tuscany Gardens and it was truely a beautiful occasion. It was fun being involved in the whole process of the engagements, the bridals, and then, finally, the wedding. Here are some of my favs:
Meet Jena and Brian. They are from my hometown of Centerville, so I immediately knew they would be super cool. And then I met them, and low and behold, they were totally super cool. Steve took them to Memory Grove to take their engagements a couple weekends ago and here are some of my favorites from the session. P.S. Doesn't Jena have the prettiest smile?
Steve has been photographing portraits and landscapes for many years. It wasn't until I, Katie, came into the picture that he made it his career. Visit www.CypertPhoto.com to view more information about Steve's photography.
